NYDC, Bugis Junction

Ernie had been craving for the mudpies at NYDC for a while, and since he was about to relocate to HK, we decided to indulge in their sinful desserts despite a very full dinner.

We got our favourites, mine's The Boney Cake ($9.80), a thick wad of the Elmer Fudge Cake served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream, chocolate chip sprinkles and drizzles of hot fudge. I love the juxtaposition of the warm, rich and dense chocolate cake and the cold vanilla ice-cream. The value-for-money pricetag of $9.80 makes this dessert an absolute must-try.

The BF got the same Boney Cake ($9.80), but with chocolate ice-cream instead. This was also yummy, but it would have been to much chocolate for me.

Ernie got his usual, the Cookie Monster Mudpie ($10.95), layers of double chocolate chip ice-cream and mocha almond fudge ice-cream, nestled on a Oreo cookie crumb base, topped with Oreo cookie bits, and drizzled with hot fudge. This really was the ultimate chocolate bomb, strictly reserved for chocolate addicts like Ernie.

I love the service here, they are ever so accommodating and smiley. When I asked them the names of the songs playing on the sound system, they took pains to write out the song titles out for me, with nary a frown.

Oh at the risk of sounding like a prepubescent schoolgirl, I have to mention that the soft toys here are positioned in a "so-cute-I-wanna-squeal" manner.

Ernie took this as an inspirational hint to pick the Cookie Monster Mudpie as his choice of a dessert.
