Secret Recipe, CPF Building

Secret Recipe is one of those places that you really need to know what to order from the menu. Their cakes are generally yummy, but their food is quite a hit and miss affair. There are some dishes that are worth busting your calorie count for, but some other dishes that are not even worth its relatively cheap pricetag.

The Prawn Arrabiatta ($12.50) is a limp, weak and bastardized version of the Italian classic. Pasta was overcooked, spaghetti sauce was watery and generic. Only the prawns were fresh and crunchy.

In contrast, the Grilled Chicken Baked Rice ($11.80) is delicious. Rice was moist and evenly coated with a delicate creamy gravy, chicken chunks were tender and plentiful and the cheese melted over the dish was heavenly.

The New York Cheesecake ($5.20) is unassumingly indulgent. The cream cheese was rich yet light, with the creamiest and most airy of textures, on a crumbly chocolatey Oreo cookie crust.
