Haato, Ridgewood

After lunch at E-Sarn, Ernie and I went next door to Haato for some gelato. Although gelato is an Italian creation, Haato uses Japanese recipes to create their brand of preservative-free and artificial colouring-free gelato. Apart from gelato and a small selection of very pretty desserts, Haato also has a limited menu of Japanese and Italian food.

The ambience is decidedly family-friendly and comfortable, so you feel like you're in someone's homely, cosy living room. There are a bunch of board games available for customers to chill and hang out.

Ernie, the chocolate addict, got the Royal Chocolate ($4 for medium cup). This was very creamy, but it still managed to taste light. Even after wolfing down the entire cup, you don't feel as heavy as if you've had "normal" ice-cream.

I prefer bittersweet flavours, so I got the Mocca ($4 for medium cup). I like the hint of bitter coffee and its aromatic flavours.

For a Saturday afternoon, this place was surprisingly idyllic, with very few customers and a view of the condo pool. it had a very quaint homely neighbourhood feel to it.
