Kith Cafe, Park Mall
We revisited Kith Cafe after our thoroughly satisfying meal sometime back. Since then, the alfresco space of the tiny joint has doubled in size, possibly to accommodate their burgeoning mealtime crowd. Even on a weekday night, the ever-popular bistro was bustling with diners.
This time round, we tried their pizza offerings. We were, initially, a little hesitant, as Kith Cafe doesn't specialise in Italian fare, and wanted to stick to the safer, more dependable, options. But boy were we glad we threw caution to the wind. For a place that doesn't specialize in Italian fare, their pizzas surpassed expectations. I daresay the wood-fired pizzas here at Kith Cafe are comparable to pizza specialists Spizza, Extra Virgin Pizza or even Peperoni.
The intoxicating scent of truffle hits you the second you're within range of the Ham & Mushroom Pizza ($22). Mixed mushrooms and cooked ham abound aplenty, glued together by mild cheddar and mozzarella on a bed of tangy tomato sauce.
The spinach and ricotta-stuffed Ravioli ($20), slathered in a tomato and parmesan cream pink sauce, was pretty darn good as well. We liked that the pasta pockets were al dente, and the sauce never got cloying.
I badly needed a perk-me-up, and got a Latte ($4) even though it was night-time. With its bold and creamy notes, the cuppa joe helped keep me awake through dinner (oh yes, I was just THAT sleepy!).
