Hwa Soo Mok, Seoul, South Korea

I brought Ernie to this place the BF and I had dinner the last time we were in Seoul. It's walking distance from the hotel and I remembered that the bulgogi beef was super yummy. Ernie, the consummate fan of red meat, would love this place.

We started off with some Boneless Short Ribs (27,000 Won), well-marbled beef strips and Ribeye Roll (26,000 Won), equally well marbled chunks of full-bodied red meat. Accompanying bulgogi paste, kelp, mustard, herb-infused soy, green chilis, lettuce are provided as sides.

We also got the Hardwood Charcoal Grilled Assorted Sausages (18,000 Won). Save for the blood sausage (greyish one), the rest of the sausages were juicy and very yummy.

Ernie wanted some steamed white rice to go with the beef, but he mistakenly got the Scorched Rice (5,000 Won). This was very plain, like Teochew porridge, but with smoky hints and burnt overtones.

The Kimchi here was good though, spicy, rich, bold, with a sourish tinge.

I loved the Scrambled Egg in Hotpot Banchan, this was fluffy, simply flavoured, and really quite delicious.
