Food Capital by Amoje, Lotte Department Store, Seoul, South Korea

Lotte is one of the major conglomerates in South Korea. Lotte owns hotels, shopping malls, construction companies, real estate, manufactures food products and even operates a theme park.

No shopping trip in Seoul is complete without a visit to Lotte Department Store, which is probably one of the largest shopping malls in Seoul. The humongous mall has got 11 storeys of pure shopping pleasure, and it's connected to Lotte World, the largest theme park in South Korea. While shopping at Lotte Department Store (The Face Shop and Laneige products are super duper freaking cheap in Seoul!), Ernie and I made a quick pitstop at the food court in the basement of the gargantuan shopping mall. I got a Soondubu Jigae (6,500 Won), a beancurd and seafood stew with hot bean paste.

The beancurd stew wasn't the best I'd tried. Despite being chock full of prawns and flower crabs,  it tasted a little weak and watered down.

The healthy brown rice was fluffy and soft though.

The chilled fishcake was very standard fare, mild and chewy.

The pickled radish was very mild, despite its deceptively fiery hue, with a tart overtone. This wasn't as fresh as I'd like.

The kimchi was also alright, fresh, but not spicy enough.
