Saravana Bhavan
CC and I went for a quick bite for lunch. He's quite health-conscious so off we went to Saravana Bhavan for some South Indian vegetarian food. This restaurant is a chain originating from India and is frequented by many Indian expats so you know that the food is fairly authentic.
Vegetarian food can get a little bland and staid, but the Indians really know how to spice up their vegetarian food, so you almost don't feel like you're eating vegetarian food!
CC got the Quicklunch Set B with a Mango Lassi ($19.80). The curries are mildly spicy but still packed with flavour. No worries about a rumbling churning tummy during work after lunch.
A little note about the terrible air-conditioning in the restaurant. It's really quite hot and stuffy so it's best to eat and go. You can go to Han's nearby to linger over coffee or tea, the air-conditioning is way better there.
