Asian Corner, Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok, Thailand

This was our last meal in Bangkok at the airport before flying off back to Singapore. As we didn't have much time before boarding, we stopped by the first casual Thai eatery we saw and promptly made our orders.

Their set meals are quite value-for-money, with 2 dishes and a drink, so we got the Set B (450 Baht).

The Tom Yum Goong (220 Baht for ala carte) had a humongous freshwater prawn and loads of straw mushrooms. This was spicy but was too saturated with prawn stock. The concentrated broth got cloying after a while.

The Pad Ka Pao Kai (180 Baht), chicken sauteed with basil and cashew nuts, was good, with tender chicken chunks flavoured with chilli and peppery basil, but a little tiny in portion. Then again, this is a set meal after all, and still worth the value.

you are so lucky to be there before the flood. I am hoping there will be no more flood in early Dec.

Any recommendations for dinner at Bangkok Chinatown?

Hi FoodieFC,

I don't think there'll be flooding come Dec, because the monsoon season will be over by then.

I don't really go to Chinatown in Bangkok, but I've heard that the claypot shark's fin is a must-try. Just pop into any one that has the most number of Thai locals and you can't go wrong. Or else, if you want Thai-Chinese food, go to Suan Lum Seafood at Suan Lum Market. It's a local fave. U can get your claypot shark's fin there too.

Err actually, that's 80% true. I do tend to stay around the Chidlom area.

Disappointed. Stood there for 10mins, we were not been attended by any staff. They looked as If we must eat there. Thailand is such a nice place but the airport service was down to the extreme. Two times here in Bangkok and two times of thumbs down service @ Survarnbhumi Airport.

so sorry to hear that. leaving bangkok on such a low note sure spoils the memory of a nice trip. we've been extremely lucky, haven't encountered bad svc in thailand so far.

Disappointed. The customer service is very frustrating. Me and my friend are so unhappy the way the cashier treat us..she is so rude unpolite and don't even know how to count, make us wait for other waitress to help her count. Waiting is no issue but the attitude of staff (cashier) serving us is unacceptable. We have a great experienced in thailand but that lady ruin it all.
