New Lucky Claypot Chicken Rice
New Lucky Claypot Chicken Rice is sometimes known as the 'Holland Village Claypot Rice'. Located in the same hawker centre as the Blanco Court kway chap, this is one of a few stalls that's actually open at night. Each portion is cooked upon order, so call ahead to order your share if you don't intend to waste an hour waiting for your claypot.
The Claypot Rice ($10) had an even char on the bottom, and while it wasn't seasoned on the stove (there's bottles of oil and dark soy for you to drizzle over the rice on your own), there were sizeable chunks of salted fish and slivers of chinese sausage to flavour the rice. The chicken was succulent even if it wasn't marinated, and I liked the addition of braised mushroom. Overall, this was a pretty commendable claypot, and as good as the famous one in Geylang.
