ET Artisan Sweets

I've long heard of ET Artisan Sweets, but only just now realized that it's opened by a schoolmate of mine (thanks to Addie who had brought these over for tea and informed me as much). While their cupcakes are indeed one of the most gorgeous I'd ever seen, the confectioneries were underwhelmingly ordinary. They were lacking in that moist texture present in truly awesome cupcakes, and in this department, the franchised-to-death Twelve Cupcakes really does trump these. Kudos to the amazing marketing though, it's what makes their beautiful but somewhat unremarkable sweets, at a pricey $4+ a pop per cupcake, so popular. That said, the various custard/creams/jellies/jams piped into each cupcake center is a nice surprise, and lends much needed moistness.

Blueberry, with rainbow sprinkles, a smooth-as-silk blueberry frosting, fresh blueberries, and blueberry jam piped-in center.

Chocolate Overload, with a chocolate ganache center, chocolate frosting, and a white chocolate square set stop

Strawberry, with rainbow sprinkles, delicate strawberry frosting, strawberry jam center, and the cutest little edible strawberry fondant

Rocky Mountain, with just about the prettiest marshmallows, chocolate ganache center and vanilla frosting

Hazelnut Praline, with accents of hazelnut in the chocolate center, frosting and tube topping

Chocolate Caramel, with caramel swirls in everything

I have to agree though I'm a loyal customer of ET! Usually I get their macarons and nothing else.

There are too many awesome cupcake bakeries these days.
