We'd been gifted with this yummy housewarming pressie from a very thoughtful friend, who'd checked out my blog for my favourite foods and gone to get one of my favourite macarons from Bakerzin. LOVE!

Accommodation in the suites at the Four Seasons Seoul includes access to the Executive Club, a club lounge offering personalised attention that's open from 6.30am to 10pm. There are three meals served here, buffet-style: breakfast from 6.30am to 10am; afternoon tea from 3pm to 5pm; and evening cocktails from 5pm to 8pm. While the club was a perfectly lovely spot to chill out, we visited it no more than a grand total of three times in the several weeks we've holidayed in Seoul. We had breakfast once, and spent a couple of evenings partaking their cocktail hour. We just preferred to indulge in our beloved Korean eats, which are very much missed when we're in SG, and could spare no space for any other foods. Janggut Laksa vs 328 Katong Laksa, Queensway Shopping Centre

Queensway Shopping Centre , where locals flock to for all things sports and optical-related, is also known for good laksa. There are 2 laksa stalls, within a stone's throw of each other, both claiming to serve up the best. Both tout to be affiliates of world-famous Katong ones, and the accolades, writeups and publicity plastered all the utilitarian facades will attest to the fierce competition. Seating at both eateries is cramped and constrained, so dining is really a touch-and-go affair. Both are manned by efficient, if a little curt, bevy of staff, and so turnover is high. Good news for the 5-minute-on-average long line of diners waiting their turn. The menu is similarly limited, with laksa being the primary dish of choice, and its fixins' like otah and lime juice as regular side orders. Curry chicken, Chinese-style, is also a popular option. Ang Mo Kio Central Market & Food Centre, 724 Ang Mo Kio Ave 6

How we stumbled upon this underrated but outstanding hawker centre was fortuitous. So, I've been hankering for soupy braised duck noodles (yes, there's such a thing!) recently; it's been yonks since I last had it (also, yes, I do have the most random cravings). It's not a dish widely available or easily found anywhere, but a little research turned up this little gem of a braised duck + kway chap stall in Ang Mo Kio Central Market & Food Centre . So, post-duck noodles, we waddled around said hawker centre, which led to the discovery of a treasure trove of hawker offerings. My picks are listed in descending preference as follows. Braised Duck A must-try, the Duck Noodle Soup  ($4) at Ban Chuan was exceptional.
