Parklane Zha Yun Tun Mee House, Boon Tat Street

Many apologies for the hiatus, my computer crashed! I think it's time to get a new lappy, the old one's served me for the past 10 years. Yes, you heard right. 10 whole long years. The old lappy's quite the dinosaur.

Parklane Zha Yun Tun Mee House is a pseudo-air-conditioned eatery along Boon Tat Street, which is so important in our sweltering humidity. I say "pseudo" because the air-conditioners are switched on, but the eatery isn't enclosed, so you get cooled but not chilled. Although they specialise in their namesake of fried wantons and fried wanton noodles, I like the fried breaded chicken cutlets here.

The Chicken Cutlet Hor Fan ($3.50) consists of a juicy breadcrumbed chicken patty, paired with some green leafy veggies and finished with slippery flat rice noodles in a flavoursome, albeit MSG-loaded, black soy-infused gravy. A nice, comforting, substantial lunch.
