Prego

We tookaway a pizza from Prego for supper one night. It's really near our home and open till late so it was our first choice for a late-night pizza craving.

The "Prego" ($29) with Parma ham, rocket salad and Parmesan, though obviously a signature, wasn't that great. The thin, crispy wood-fired pizza crust was decent enough, but the Parma ham had dried out because it was added before the pizza was placed in the oven, and baked together with the pizza crust. That made the ham tough, chewy and dry. It was just lacking in its distinctively delectable silky moist texture. We would have preferred the Parma ham to be added after the baking, and not before.

In addition, a more generous hand with the rocket leaves and Parmesan would have helped tremendously with the flavour. The pizza just seemed bare, plain and generally lacking in taste.

Also, it was really one of the smallest sized pizzas, for this price range. Ricciotti, with its larger, yummier and cheaper pizzas, still has the best value pizzas around.
