Hong Kong Sun Kee Dessert
I've mentioned before that one of the Fiance's favourite dessert is the mango sago pomelo with black glutinous rice from Hui Lau Shan in Hong Kong. This is readily available in Hong Kong, but rarely found on our little island.
We were passing through the newly revamped Raffles City Shopping Centre basement and chanced upon this Hong Kong dessert shop specializing in a variety of mango-based desserts. We went in hoping to find the Fiance's favourite dessert.
Unfortunately, they didn't have the same dessert and this was the next closest dish on the menu. The Black Glutinous Riceball on Coconut Milk & Mango Puree ($5.30) was disappointing. The riceball was tasteless, dry and hard when it would have been better moist and sweet. The mangoes were also not as sweet as we would have liked, they were apparently harvested a little too early and still a tad sour.
