Lao Zhong Zhong Fine Spice Stall, Tai Thong Crescent

So we were waiting to takeaway dinner at Gu Ma Jia's when the Hubs suddenly recalled that there was "a good kwan chang stall in Tai Thong". As we were peckish, we walked over to the adjacent row of shophouses and lo and behold, there was a small queue at Lao Zhong Zhong, a kwan chang stall in the corner coffeeshop.

So we decided to have ourselves a little snack, see how it fared against our Toa Payoh favourite, 93 Wu Xiang Xia Bing.

We had a medley of ngoh hiang, fishballs, and spring roll popiahs ($3.50), which were commendable but unfortunately laced with coriander leaves. Which meant 93 Wu Xiang remains our top pick for kwan chang. The raw-garlic chilli dip was excellent though, robust, potent, with just that bit of bite.

The stall facade for reference.
