Relish by Wild Rocket

Sometime ago, when I reviewed Relish, some boob (who'd inexplicably some unresolved issues with Relish??) had pompously commented that I was "seriously so uninformed", as Relish was "due to close soon". But, you know, as with any troll, you should always ignore and leave them be, in the dank shadows of wherever they slithered out from, because, more than 2 years after my visit, Relish is still standing strong. The healthy size of the weekday lunch service was an indication of a sustainable tenancy at Cluny Court.

I'm on a bit of a salad craze right now, and the Sesame Chicken Salad ($15.40), a melange of mesclun, baby spinach, cherry tomatoes, grilled chicken, and tossed in a delightful sesame-soy dressing, hit all the right notes. Perfectly moist chicken, check. Refreshingly crisp greens, check. A beautifully balanced, albeit marginally salty, dish, that evidently drew its inspiration from chicken rice, so you get the flavours of chicken rice, without expensing the ensuing guilt.

The Cheesy Truffle Fries ($9.80) with parmesan shavings and truffle oil, was a-ok, but not particularly remarkable.

Don't miss out on Relish's burgers, they are the highlight of the bistro afterall. The Mushroom & Cheese Burger ($19.60), a hefty beef patty layered with sauteed mushrooms and melty cheese, is like a luxed-up version of the Burger King's mushroom swiss. Dripping with luscious juices, and finger-licking good.

The Ramly Burger ($19.60) was a commendable rendition of the beloved Malaysian street food. Just that it's noticeably healthier without all that reused grease, which can either be a good or bad thing depending on the perspective. That said, you get a semblence of its decadent flavours without having to make the road trip upstate.

A change-up from the usual fries - its sweet potato cousin option sided by a curried mayo dip. This was incredibly well done. A lovely crunch, and that curried mayo was quite the brilliant pairing.
