St Marc Cafe, Vivocity

We popped by St Marc Cafe while resting our weary legs when out shopping at Vivocity. A Japanese import with over 300 outlets worldwide, this cafe serves up pretty delectable confectionery and freshly brewed coffee. Just think of this as a bread-centric Japanese version of Starbucks.

The Little Fuji ($6.30), a nut-studded pastry snowed with a towering swirl of soft serve vanilla ice-cream and caramel stripes, hit the pleasure spot.

The Sweet Focaccia ($2.30), simply twined with grated potato and cheese was a tad boring, a tad forgettable, but dependable as a tummy filler.

The Matcha Daifuku Chococro ($2.60), a green tea-infused rendition of their popular mainstay chocolate croissant, was pretty decent. The pastry could have been a little more buttery, and flaky, but the filling, a balance of the bittersweet, was the highlight.  


The Pepper Cheesedog ($3.50) was lovely as well, stuffed with a juicy peppery hotdog and swathed in melted cheese.

@FoodieFC: hahahaa, yeah i think so too, but it's probably because they incorporated the gst into the pricing.

Hansang Korean Family Restaurant, Novena Square 2

The third floor of Novena Square 2 has been dubbed "Little Korea" due to the prevalence of Korean-centric shops. There's a Korean supermarket, at least 2 Korean restaurants and a whole bunch of hole-in-the-wall fashion shops selling clothes imported from Korea. We were there one evening and were enticed by the delicious smells wafting from Hansang Korean Family Restaurant . One part of the restaurant is reserved for those having Korean BBQ and the other part is solely for diners not having the Korean BBQ. This separateness is great because you don't walk out smelling of bulgogi. A unique dining feature here is that they actually serve an  Amuse Bouche of sorts. The trio of bite-sized bits heralded the start of a good meal. En cet Jour Américain de Merci Donnant qui vient de passer, même si on à Singapour ne le célèbre pas, et même si le monde entier est essentiellement une énorme merdier en ce moment, c'est aussi un moment opportun pour exprimer notre gratitude pour tout cela.
