Bakerzin, UE Square

Bakerzin isn't just known for its exquisite desserts, they have a full range of yummy international food offerings.

The Grilled Barramundi Fish with Mash ($16.90) was fresh and nice, flaky in texture, and clean and mild in taste. A creamy lemon butter sauce complemented the delicate fish brilliantly. The parboiled vegetables, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower, were too hard and raw though, they would have been better a little more softened.

The Warm Chocolate Cake ($9.90) is really decadent indulgence. A molten chocolate centre, the icy cool vanilla bean ice-cream and the semi-hard chocolate crust of the cake was a wonderful play on textures, flavours and temperatures.

I thought the mandarin orange addition was a classic case of "too many cooks spoil the broth". Its heady sweetness threw off the chocolate and vanilla concoction to sweetness overdrive.
